Opening in 1947, Ace Auto Stores, as it was called then, was a general store of merchandise ranging from sporting goods to auto accessories to toys to hardware items. Over the years, Ace diminished its lines and concentrated on hunting and fishing. In the early eighties, the final metamorphosis occurred with a name change to Ace Sporting Goods and a product line geared to shooting sports, which makes them a great fit for Gearfire.
