For the first of what we hope will be a series of mini-articles from the desks of those of us at Gearfire, I want to kick things off with something that touches on what we're aiming to do each month. You'll be hearing from several of us—sharing interesting tidbits, tips, and tricks as they relate directly to Gearfire eCommerce – on both the Pro and Essentials platforms. 

One of the things I love most about our Gearfire family—and what truly sets us apart from our peers—is that nearly every one of us has a background in firearms, hunting, or shooting sports in general. I spent five years managing a small firearms store in eastern Virginia, also serving as an NRA Instructor. When my family had the opportunity to move back to Norfolk, I transitioned to working with dealers like you, helping with Point of Sale, Inventory Management, Compliance, and eCommerce software. I've been in your shoes. I know the rhythm of your day-to-day. It was a natural fit. While I'm no longer instructing on the range or keeping bound books, I'm still training and working in an industry I know a little something about. 

Gearfire eCommerce is the next generation of Gearfire Classic—or NFDN, as some of us old-timers remember. Classic paved the way for firearms eCommerce: endless aisles powered by distributor feeds, curated multi-distributor catalogs, and tools that bridged the gap between storefront and online shopping. 

For example, like Classic, Gearfire Pro has one standout feature that's often overlooked: Store Purchase Orders. This tool is a serious time-saver and it's Gearfire-born. Right from your Dealer Portal, you can quickly create purchase orders for all your enabled distributors with just a few clicks. Search by UPC, see which distributors have quantity available and at what cost, add what you need to your cart, and Gearfire Pro will generate POs for each distributor. When you're done with your restocking order, click "Submit PO," and your distributors receive the order, fulfill it, and ship it to your store. No more bouncing between websites or juggling browser tabs to track down inventory. Do it all from within Gearfire Pro.

Take me, for example. My days used to be spent in the store, working with firearms all day. Now I get to help you—all from home—while watching the hummingbirds in my backyard.
