For the past 145 years, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has been hosting annual meetings and exhibits. I just had to put that number in this blog post; ONE HUNDRED FORTY FIVE years. At the first event, Ulysses S. Grant was President. Our flag only had 37 stars! But I digress…
The 146th annual event takes place in Atlanta, GA from April 27 – 30. It is one of the biggest consumer trade shows in our industry. There are expected to be more than 80,000 folks in attendance, visiting more than 800 exhibitors. And as always, the NRA Show will not only be packed with people, but also with seminars, workshops, special events, celebrity meet and greets and more! We can’t wait to be there!
Some of the gang at Gearfire will be in attendance at this year’s show. We plan to meet mostly with manufacturers. We will maintain relationships with our current partnering manufacturers, and cultivate new relationships with others. We’ll be sure to throw some fun into the mix as well. If you’re fortunate enough to attend, and spot the Gearfire logo on one of our shirts, be sure to say hello!

Though the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits are hardly new, the 2017 show marks an important milestone. On April 14th, it was announced that President Donald Trump will be in attendance, and will speak at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. Largely known as one of the most important political events in our country, the Leadership Forum always features the country’s top Second Amendment leaders in government, the media, and the entertainment industry. My guess is our President will have a lot to say, as he proudly supports the Second Amendment along with responsibly armed citizens.
What makes Mr. Trump’s appearance so significant is the fact that it will be the first time a sitting president visits the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits since Ronald Reagan! It should be VERY interesting to hear what our President has to say.
